TEMPTATION

Temptation is one thing that is overrated, as well as underrated in life. Temptation simply means a desire to give in to your needs or wants even when it has adverse spiritual consequences.
You wake up in the morning, you're hungry. You cook food and eat. You've satisfied a need. There was no temptation involved. But if it was a day you decided to fast, and you wake up desiring that delicious pot of stew that you put in the freezer last night... Temptation has come calling.
Maybe you're not fasting. But your mum has given strict instructions not to touch that soup until she returns, and you're impatient, mentally hurrying her up to get home quickly. Temptation is knocking at your door.
When you're able to say "No" to it and do what you're supposed to do, then you've overcome it. But when you decide to answer to its call, you've fallen into temptation. Answering its call actually seems a smart thing to do at that moment it comes calling, but the regrets often set in soon after the deed is done. The consequences are usually more lasting, sometimes for the rest of your life.

FAITH WITH PATIENCE

Faith is now, yet the trying of faith works Patience. Faith is not that it will be, but that it has happened, yet you have to wait for that which is unseen to become seen. That it is not yet seen doesn't mean that it is not real. Reality is not about what is seen in the physical world, Reality is what God says IS. But in this world of seasons and times, there's need for patience for its manifestation in this physical realm. Never let what you see in the physical fool you.
For everything there's a preparation, there's an expectation, and there's a birthing. The physical realm doesn't show the preparation and expectation, only the birthing. But did it all start from the birthing?

DO YOUR PART, LET GOD DO HIS

A lot of times in life, we're so troubled and disturbed about tomorrow, that we end up not doing what we're supposed to do today, forgetting that what we do or neglect to do today influences what tomorrow brings for us. A lot of times in life, we're troubled about what we want God to do for us, we are troubled about whether He's really leading us or we're on our own; we're troubled about how He's going to make His promises happen in our life, that we lose sight of what we're supposed to be doing and try to take over God's work and do it for Him. It shouldn't be so.
Look at Cornelius (Acts10:1-48). With what knowledge he had about God, he went about doing what he knew God required of him. He was devout, he gave alms to the poor, he prayed always. And as he did his own part, he made a way for God to do His part. And God sent an angel to him, to give him a message that would turn his life around for good, in a way beyond what he ever imagined.
We often ask God to make a way for us when we face adverse situations in life. But do you know that sometimes, we are the ones that need to make a way for God?

DO YOUR PART, LET GOD DO HIS

A lot of times in life, we're so troubled and disturbed about tomorrow, that we end up not doing what we're supposed to do today, forgetting that we do or neglect to do today influences what tomorrow brings for us.
God is Almighty, but He would never ride all over us, doing whatever He likes even though He can. We need to submit our will to His, we need to know His word concerning that situation we are facing, that Word has to become Rhema to us, and we have to say yes to it and run with it, not just nod and forget it, then start complaining afresh tomorrow. Often we hinder what God has prepared for us from manifesting in our lives because of our lack of spirituality and too much worries.
Take a look at Cornelius again. He devoted himself to spiritual activities in submission and devotion to God, and this put him in a position where his spirit was open to hear from God, and God spoke to him, he took the Word and acted upon it immediately.
Some of us often cry to hear God speak to us. We want to see visions and have prophetic experiences. We are so consumed by thoughts of our inadequacies in these that we don't even fellowship with the God Who gives us these gifts. Embrace the Giver, and the gifts will be yours as well. Don't be too busy looking for where the gifts are, that you end up ignoring Him.
God on His own part, had gone ahead of Cornelius and made thw journey smooth and easy for him. He was to send for Peter, a Jew. Cornelius was a Gentile. Jews were not supposed to mingle with Gentiles, it was a taboo. And Cornelius was about to send an invitation to Peter to come to his house and speak to him. In that day and age, that was a very difficult and frowned upon thing to arrange. But God went ahead and spoke to Peter, and prepared his mind to honour the invitation before Cornelius' messengers arrived. Peter also was devoting himself to spiritual things and so was also open to hear and receive directions from God. The result of all these was explosive, to the Glory of the Mighty God.
Listen. God wants you to have beautiful things and beautiful experiences more than you want them for yourself. So stop acting like you have to beg Him and bribe Him and coerce Him to do what you want. Turn your eyes away from carnality and turn inward and upward into the things of the Spirit. Spend more time studying the Word. Spend more time giving and making other people happy. Spend more time praying (not lamenting, complaining kind of prayer). Spend more time fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. Desire to know Him more. Desire to be His Friend. Focus on things spiritual. And you'll be opening up the way to let the beautiful things God has prepared for you begin to take shape and manifest in your life.
You may have been telling yourself you're waiting on God. Most likely God is waiting on you. Position yourself rightly today.

LIVING BY HIS WILL AND NATURE

A lot of Christians live their lives on the basis of whether they believe they're under the Law or not. Some see the laws of the Old Testament as mandatory even now, and shun people who don't abide by them. Some others consider anything spoken under the Old Testament as not relevant to them, and therefore totally disregard it. But I tell you this, whether the Law of Moses or the Law of Christ, whether the Old Testament or New Testament, God's Will governs over all. And His Will is made manifest in His Word. The problem is that lots of people read the Bible as letters; the letters kill but the Spirit gives Life. Even Satan quoted the Word to Jesus. For a Believer, quoting the Word shouldn't be just about reciting the words, it should be about conveying/communicating/ministering the Spirit of the Word.

FACING PROBLEMS

Problems. That's one topic a lot of people cannot stop talking about. Because that's one thing a lot of people face. But you know what? What you consider a problem depends on your outlook, your mentality. What you think is a problem may not be so for another person. Like they say, "One man's meat is another man's poison," or "Different strokes for different folks". But I'd like to define a problem as the difference between where you are and where you want to be, or the difference between what you have and what you need. That thing separating those two points is the problem. How do you combat or overcome it?

THE BEST FRIEND 2

I'd love to tell you about my best friend. You know Him. He's generally known as the Holy Spirit. That's right, He's my best friend. You know all those points I stated about love, companionship and all? He meets them all without defect; He's the PERFECT FRIEND. That's why I made Him my Best Friend.
Think about it. Do you know of anyone that could possibly beat Him? I don't think so.
